Rita,
Kwaku and Juliet’s father died when Rita was barely six years old.
His family rejected him and their mother had to bury him alone. So,
six years later, when their mother also died, Rita and her five
other siblings had no one to turn to from the father’s family. And,
as if things were not bad enough for them, their mother’s sister,
who traditionally should have cared for the children, also shirked
her responsibility.
The children
had no one to care for them. There was no food and no income. Life
became unbearable. Something had to be done. Fearing for the
welfare and safety of Rita and her siblings, the Minister of their
mother’s church offered to care for all of them in his own house so
that he could properly supervise them. The man of God soon realised,
however, that it would take more than just the desire to meet even
the basic needs of the children. He sold some of his most cherished
things, but still could not meet more than a fraction of their
needs. His plight became desperate and he sought the assistance of
the Village of Hope.
By
the Grace of God, not only Rita was admitted but also three of her
siblings were given the same opportunity.
For six
wonderful years Rita, Kwaku and Juliet have enjoyed the love and
care of the Village of Hope. Now they are ready to move on to higher
education and we have to find the finances to help them. If you
could sponsor one or all of them so that they might further their
education then they would be blessed, but you also would find a
great blessing from our Father in heaven. |
