This has been a very busy week
of spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. A four day gospel campaign
was held in the town of Ansaful, located about 30 minutes from the Village
of Hope campus - off Ghana's main western highway. Brethren from 11
congregations converged at this town to teach and preach the gospel. The
congregations were Winneba, Sankor, Fetteh, Awutu-Beraku, Akotsi, Gbawe,
Odobeng, Nyanyano, Buduatta, Ojobi, and Village of Hope. There were 9
females and 42 males, making a total of 51 brethren.
Three main activities were
engaged in: dawn preaching (which took place each day between 4 a.m. and 6
a.m.), house-to-house teaching (which took place throughout the daytime),
and public preaching each night between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. From about 4 a.m.
when the campaign team members woke up until about 11 p.m. when they went to
bed (after safely putting away all the public preaching equipment), the only
breaks they had were for bathing and eating. All the time was devoted to
finding and teaching people about Christ. Almost every house, if not every
house, was entered and the people were given the opportunity to sit down and
study the word of God. Their responses were very good. After four days of
teaching and preaching, 8 souls were baptized into Christ and 10 people were
restored. 73 people requested further studies, which the Ansaful church
members will follow up on. The members of this small struggling church did
not only have about a 50% growth rate, but were also very encouraged. Well
did the psalmist say, "Behold how good and pleasant it is when brethren
dwell together in unity" (Psalm 133:1). Let me also say, "Behold how
fruitful it is when brethren work together in unity." Surely, the Lord
bestows his blessings, even life, forever more.
Please remember to pray for the
new Christians, those who have been restored, and the church at Ansaful.
Total expenses before, during, and after the campaign came close to 1,000
U.S. dollars ($1,000). This was borne by the Westside Church of Christ in
Searcy, AR, U.S.A. To this church, we say a big thank you. To everyone, we
say God bless you.
Servant of the LORD,
Fred Asare
