Students from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN visited the Village of Hope for two weeks. Like the Memorial Road group, some members of the Libscomb group made pavement blocks for the landscaping of the school compound. While here, they also helped in tutoring the children and also made great strides in the reading program. This program encourages children to read and summarize the contents of what they have read. If a child successfully reads and summarizes 10 books, he or she is given 1 free book to keep as their own. This has really encouraged the children to learn to love reading and is also helping in their academic work.

The Lipscomb students also held a VBS at the Village of Gyangyanase. Over 500 children showed up over the course of the VBS. The church in Gyangyanase is a fairly young congregation that was established by the Village of Hope. Because of the love and attention shown to the children in the village, both the children and their parents have been introduced to this new congregation. This is a blessing and an encouragement for the Gyangyanase church. It made the church more visible in the community and made many parents who have never attended a service visit for the first time. The hard work of the Lipscomb group is greatly appreciated by Village of Hope, Gyangyanase congregation, and the community as a whole.

When guests come to the Village of Hope, they bring much joy and love to both the children and the staff of the Village of Hope. Their hard work and sacrifices build great bonds between brethren in Africa and in America, and help spread the Kingdom of God to many parts of Ghana. Their visits are always greatly anticipated and are always very productive. The Village of Hope is blessed and always encouraged by these guests.

Servant of the LORD,
