With the vision, hard work and dedicated zeal of one who loves his people, especially children, Fred Asare has guided the Village of Hope to great heights.  When Fred first took the Director's position there was but one house and the property where the house was located was in dispute.  No new structures could be built.  Fred organized a search for new land, and raised the money to buy it within Ghana.  Soon there were three houses and the beginnings of a school.  Quickly a clinic was added and then the first floor of Hope Christian Academy.  Now there are five houses and the second floor of the school is being added.

There are great plans for future growth and with the blessings of God much will be done to help children grow and glorify the Father of all.

Thank you Fred for all that you've done and are doing.

In 1992, because of setbacks under the original leadership in the building and establishing of the Village of Hope, Josiah Tilton urged the Traverse City church of Christ to take over the fundraising tasks for the Village of Hope and seek to partner with the Vertical Center, Tema, Ghana church of Christ and her Elders in the work of the orphanage.  The Traverse City and Vertical Center Elders agreed to the partnership and fundraising began in earnest, with Josiah Tilton leading those efforts.

Today, with the leadership of the Vertical Center Elders and the vision of Fred Asare (above) the Village of Hope is a marvelous work helping more than 350 children to happier, healthier and better lives, filled with the grace and mercies of God.
